Con il sistema SpeedAssist, Linde Material Handling aiuta i clienti che acquistano i suoi carrelli elevatori a incrementare la sicurezza nel trasporto presso i locali aziendali. Linde SpeedAssist rileva se il carrello elevatore a forche si trova al chiuso e in questo caso riduce la velocità massima a un valore predefinito, impostabile con i comandi del veicolo. Il funzionamento al chiuso viene attivato non appena il sensore radar QT50 di Banner Engineering rileva un tetto sopra il carrello. Questo sensore del portafoglio prodotti Turck offre prestazioni sorprendenti grazie al suo design robusto e alle numerose opzioni di configurazione, impostabili in base alle esigenze specifiche di praticamente qualsiasi stabilimento.
Al pari del traffico stradale, l'alta velocità dei carrelli elevatori in aree a traffico elevato costituisce un rischio di incidenti. Ciò vale soprattutto per capannoni e magazzini, poiché i veicoli operano spesso in spazi limitati, con contemporaneo traffico di pedoni, che possono essere visti troppo tardi, poiché la visione è spesso limitata da macchinari, scaffali, pareti o colonne. Chi progetta carrelli elevatori si trova quindi ad affrontare la sfida di dover coniugare esigenze di sicurezza e di produttività.
SpeedAssist: sicurezza ed elevata capacità di movimentazione
Un produttore di carrelli elevatori a forche ha trovato una soluzione a questo dilemma, si tratta dell'azienda Linde Material Handling GmbH, appartenente al Gruppo KION. Linde Material Handling è tra i principali produttori mondiali di carrelli elevatori e tecnologie di stoccaggio, leader di mercato in Europa.
Molti clienti desideravano una soluzione che non dipendesse dalle decisioni individuali del conducente. Jennifer Skarabisch, ingegnere elettrotecnico responsabile del reparto carrelli elevatori e veicoli industriali, e il suo collega Michael Fuchs, responsabile prodotti del settore ricambi per il dipartimento assistenza clienti di Linde Material Handling, hanno studiato il problema e sviluppato il sistema SpeedAssist, che riduce automaticamente la velocità massima quando il veicolo si trova al chiuso.
La riduzione automatica della velocità massima all'interno degli edifici consente al cliente di non apportare modifiche alle infrastrutture esistenti. La soluzione doveva essere insita nel carrello elevatore. L'ovvia opzione era che il carrello elevatore a forche rilevasse il tetto dei locali con un sensore.
Il sensore radar QT50 soddisfa tutti i criteri
I criteri del processo di selezione includevano una vasta portata, dimensioni compatte e design robusto, poiché i sensori sono utilizzati anche all'aperto e occasionalmente soggetti a forti vibrazioni e urti. In seguito ai test interni basati su questi criteri, l'azienda ha trovato il sensore radar che cercava nel portafoglio prodotti Turck: il sensore radar QT50 sviluppato da Banner Engineering, partner di Turck.
Rilevamento del tetto di locali fino a 24 metri di altezza
Il sensore del sistema SpeedAssist rileva gli ambienti interni con tetti alti fino a 24 metri. Il dispositivo indica al modulo di controllo, tramite un'uscita a commutazione, se è stato rilevato un tetto. Il modulo di controllo rallenta quindi progressivamente la velocità tenuta o consente la massima velocità massima all'aperto. L'ingegnere elettrotecnico Skarabisch ha evidenziato la flessibilità del sensore di adattarsi alle esigenze del cliente tra le caratteristiche positive.
Dal luglio 2015 Linde offre il sistema SpeedAssist quale soluzione retrofit.
