RFID Guides AGV in Suspension Production
Turck is supplying Movexx with most of the automation required for an automated guided vehicle, including the programming of the Codesys controller on the HMI VT250
In the suspension systems production area at the Dutch company VDL Weweler, an automated guided vehicle (AGV) supplied by Movexx transports components for suspension systems from the basic production area to the paint line. Turck’s HMI VT250 with a Codesys controller is controlling how the vehicle finds its destination, supported by photoelectric sensors, RFID system as well as angle sensors and status indication systems from the Turck portfolio. Turck B.V. demonstrated its genuine solution expertise by not only supplying components but also programming the controller. Since the AGVs have taken up their duties in production, the error rate for the transport of components has rapidly dropped.
Il fornitore per il settore automobilistico e camionistico VDL Weweler di Apeldoorn in Olanda desiderava automatizzare il sistema di trasporto senza richiedere sforzo fisico, ed eseguibile su richiesta del sistema di produzione.
I pianificatori della produzione incaricati hanno riscontrato la necessità di ottimizzare il trasporto degli elementi di supporto e delle sospensioni per rimorchi di camion. Fino alla metà del 2015, questi componenti venivano ancora trasportati tra l'area di produzione di base e la linea di verniciatura con carrelli elevatori.
Trasporto manuale impreciso
Lo svantaggio di questa soluzione era il fatto che richiedeva un grosso sforzo fisico da parte dei dipendenti. Inoltre, i colleghi non potevano sempre lavorare con la stessa precisione di un veicolo autoguidato, quindi la produzione ne risentiva. Nel 2014, i responsabili di VDL Weweler hanno quindi deciso di automatizzare il trasporto dei telai.
Movexx sviluppa un nuovo carrello autoguidato
I responsabili dell'azienda VDL Weweler si sono rivolti agli specialisti del trasporto Movexx International BV per sviluppare una soluzione di trasporto automatizzata. Movexx è un produttore olandese di carrelli industriali con esperienza nella realizzazione di veicoli su misura per il cliente. Il produttore aveva già sviluppato e costruito i cosiddetti AGV (carrelli autoguidati). Tuttavia, per questo compito era necessario sviluppare una nuova soluzione.
L'AGV doveva spostarsi in entrambe le direzioni poiché dalle stazioni di destinazione era possibile uscire solo in retromarcia. La piattaforma di sollevamento idraulica alza il telaio di due centimetri dal pavimento per trasportarlo.
Soluzione di automazione completa di Turck B.V.
Per sviluppare il veicolo di trasporto, Andreas Versteeg ha coinvolto Turck già dalla fase di progettazione. Movexx aveva già utilizzato nei suoi prodotti i sensori e gli indicatori a LED Turck. Tuttavia, questo progetto richiedeva anche esperienza nella soluzione e componenti sofisticati.
La sfida più grande era costituita dal controllo bidirezionale dell'AGV nel reparto produzione. Turck suggerì un controllo combinato con striscia di contrasto a tecnologia RFID.
Sistema RFID per il controllo della destinazione
Un sistema di line tracking dalle prestazioni ottimali è stato utilizzato in combinazione con tag RFID posti sotto la pavimentazione dell'area di produzione, in punti chiave lungo il percorso. I tag in corrispondenza dei punti di svolta indicano al carrello se proseguire nella guida o arrestarsi. Il carrello non prende decisioni autonome. L'intelligenza è nella rete connessa al carrello con un IMS (Integrated Manufacturing System) di alto livello che istruisce il carrello sulla destinazione da raggiungere.
Il PLC-interfaccia VT250 di Turck opera sul carrello autoguidato. Comunica con l'IMS tramite una connessione TCP/IP wireless e risponde come master Profibus con un gateway BL20 dotato degli ingressi e delle uscite a cui sono collegati tutti i segnali del veicolo.
