Comunicazione sul campo a sicurezza intrinseca
Presso lo stabilimento di Tianjin, le stazioni I/O remote excom trasmettono segnali di misurazione della temperatura da aree a rischio di esplosione in modo affidabile ed efficiente
Nell'impianto per la produzione di VCM di Tianjin, i segnali di misurazione della temperatura devono essere prelevati da 370 punti di misurazione e trasmessi al modulo di controllo. Poiché il classico cablaggio point-to-point sarebbe risultato troppo costoso in termini monetari e di tempo, Turck ha fornito una soluzione efficiente e pratica costituita da un sistema di I/O remoti a sicurezza intrinseca.
Nel 2004, lo stabilimento chimico di Tianjin ha ampliato le proprie capacità produttive con nuovo un impianto per la produzione di vinilcloruro monomerico (VCM). La produzione richiede il controllo costante della temperatura. Una temperatura troppo bassa non solo ridurrebbe la velocità di reazione dei prodotti intermedi, ma potrebbe anche distruggere i catalizzatori.
Per questo la Tianjin Chemical Factory utilizza sette termoelementi tipo E per misurare la temperatura in ciascuno dei 44 sistemi di trasformazione in cui viene aggiunto acido cloridrico all'acetilene. Contando le tubazioni di alimentazione, sono 370 le misurazioni che occorre trasmettere dall'area a rischio di esplosione al livello di controllo del processo. Un compito che i responsabili del progetto avrebbero potuto completare ricorrendo al tradizionale cablaggio punto a punto con interfaccia, ma i cui costi di installazione e di manutenzione sarebbero risultati considerevoli.
Alimentazione a 230 V per lunghe distanze
Con un totale di sei I/O remoti excom a sicurezza intrinseca di Turck, lo stabilimento chimico di Tianjin è stata in grado di risolvere il problema in modo efficiente e affidabile. Le stazioni excom certificate per l'uso in aree a rischio di esplosione classificate come zone 1 e 2 sono commercializzate e vendute in Cina dalla società controllata Turck (Tianjin) Sensor Co. Ltd. (TTS) e hanno offerto agli operatori dell'impianto di Tianjin un importante vantaggio: Possono essere installate e operate alla tensione di 24 VCC o 230 VCA.
Quest'ultima costituisce un grande vantaggio, soprattutto nel caso in cui il percorso del segnale sia lungo rispetto alle altre stazioni I/O remote, operanti esclusivamente a 24 VCC. Sebbene in alcuni casi, vengano utilizzate sezioni di cavi molto maggiori per compensare le cadute di tensione che si verificano a causa della lunghezza dei tratti, la soluzione I/O excom di Turck garantisce un'alimentazione stabile anche con cavi lunghi diverse centinaia di metri. Ciò ha consentito agli operatori dello stabilimento di Tianjin di realizzare notevoli risparmi sull'installazione.
"Con excom, siamo stati in grado di ridurre i costi di cablaggio del 40% rispetto al nostro piano originale", spiega Wang Haiwen, del reparto system management. excom è risultato particolarmente facile da usare in caso di potenziali difetti del modulo. Fino a 16 moduli I/O possono essere sostituiti nella Zona 1 durante l'uso. In questo modo, gli I/O remoti garantiscono una maggiore operatività degli impianti nello stabilimento chimico di Tianjin.
Gestione degli asset con FDT/DTM
Oltre a tempi di operatività maggiori, possibilità di sostituzione a caldo e protezione dalle esplosioni, il sistema hot swapping e protezione antideflagrante, il sistema consente agli operatori in Cina di utilizzare il protocollo HART per i dispositivi di campo tramite bus (Profibus-DP), nonché svolgere compiti di gestione e diagnostica con Field Device Tool (FDT) e Device Type Manager (DTM): Proprio come i moduli I/O, i DTM excom, costantemente aggiornati, offrono una modularità unica che riflette la struttura flessibile della stazione I/O remota nel suo complesso. Con i DTM, gli operatori dell'impianto chimico di Tianjin possono gestire i dati di diagnostica per rack (backplane) con la stessa facilità con cui vengono utilizzati i dati dei moduli I/O o persino ogni singolo canale. Ciò consente agli operatori dell'impianto di localizzare più rapidamente i malfunzionamenti sul campo e di ridurre costosi tempi di fermo sulla linea di produzione.rs to localize malfunctions in the field faster and reduce expensive downtimes in the production chain.
