Partnership per il sistema di controllo dei processi
Lavorando in stretta collaborazione, Yokogawa e Turck hanno sviluppato linee Profibus DP con funzionalità HCIR (Hot Configuration In Run)
I proprietari di uno stabilimento chimico desideravano una soluzione fail-safe, ridondante e con funzionalità HCIR per la sostituzione del sistema di controllo dei processi. Per soddisfare questo requisito, Yokogawa e Turck hanno collaborato in stretto contatto con i tecnici del cliente per sviluppare una soluzione specifica dalla quale oggi possono trarre vantaggio anche altri clienti. La soluzione speciale originale è stata infatti trasformata da entrambi i costruttori in un prodotto standard.
Un progetto di collaborazione tra le due aziende Yokogawa e Turck ha portato allo sviluppo di una connessione ridondante tra i sistemi I/O remoti Turck excom e il sistema di controllo di processo Yokogawa Centum VP.
Ottimizzazione del processo continuo
Il precedente sistema di controllo dei processi mostrava segni di obsolescenza e non era più in grado di soddisfare i più recenti requisiti tecnici, quali l'interfacciamento come Profibus od OPC. Nel corso di una revisione dell'impianto pianificata, Sasol ha deciso di utilizzare questa finestra temporale per sostituire il sistema di controllo dei processi esistente. Il sistema I/O remoto excom di Turck, già installato in altre aree dell'impianto, doveva essere utilizzato per collegare i dispositivi sul campo nell'area classificata come Zona 1. All'epoca, il cliente aveva scelto excom perché era l'unica soluzione I/O remota sul mercato a 230 V utilizzabile nella Zona 1. Per i lunghi tratti di cavo richiesti, le soluzioni alternative a 24 V richiedevano cavi con sezione elevata per compensare le cadute di tensione.
Il team responsabile dell'allacciamento del nuovo sistema di controllo aveva elaborato un profilo delle specifiche chiaramente definito: una connessione Profibus ridondante agli I/O remoti che offrisse possibilità di espansione con scheda e anche con una stazione durante l'uso. Questa funzione di espansione online è nota nel settore con il termine HCIR o "hot configuration in run".
Sviluppo di una soluzione HCIR
"Al momento della configurazione, questo standard non era stato ancora descritto dall'organizzazione di utenti Profibus. Ciò significava che le soluzioni tra il sistema di controllo e il fornitore del sistema I/O dovevano essere sviluppate singolarmente", afferma Holger Schneider, specialista area vendite di Yokogawa. Dopo ben 15 mesi di test e implementazione, il lavoro ha dato i suoi frutti per tutti i soggetti coinvolti: Il cliente può sfruttare oggi tutti i vantaggi di una soluzione precedentemente non disponibile sul mercato. Yokogawa e Turck hanno ampliato la gamma di dispositivi per queste funzioni e hanno creato valore aggiunto dall'applicazione. Come spiega lo specialista area vendite di Yokogawa, Schneider, non è stato solo grazie all'esperienza e alle conoscenze del prodotto: "La collaborazione armonica e costruttiva tra gli esperti locali e gli ingegneri applicativi di Turck e Yokogawa ha consentito di sviluppare rapidamente la soluzione ottimale. La chimica qui era quella giusta".
Oggi, il prodotto è allo stato "tokushu", nome assegnato da Yokogawa a speciali soluzioni software che evolvono in prodotti standard e fornisce a Centum VP una versione software ufficiale per il sistema di controllo, che consente ai clienti Yokogawa di gestire il loro sistema di controllo dei processi insieme a excom in un sistema ridondante e con funzionalità HCIR. In Turck, il firmware adattato è ora diventato parte dello standard per il sistema I/O remoto di excom. La comunicazione ridondante e le funzionalità HCIR tramite Profibus DP sono ora la norma tra Centum VP ed excom.
