Alimentatori con grado di protezione IP67 per nastri trasportatori
Il sistema di trasporto ad alte prestazioni utilizza l'alimentatore Turck con grado di protezione IP67, in grado di resistere a lavaggi ad alta pressione senza richiedere l'inserimento in un quadro
I produttori di alimenti e bevande sono tenuti a rispettare severi requisiti per realizzare prodotti sicuri per i consumatori. Sono molti i controlli richiesti all'interno del sistema, tra questi la frequente pulizia mediante lavaggi ad alta pressione per mantenere condizioni igieniche all'interno dell'impianto. Lo sviluppo di macchinari in grado di resistere a tali processi di pulizia non è un'impresa facile, considerando che molti componenti elettronici non sono progettati per il contatto con acqua o per funzionare in ambienti con tassi di umidità elevati.
DCC Automation, una divisione di Dairy Conveyor Corporation, con sede a Brewster (New York, USA) progetta, realizza e installa da oltre 50 anni sistemi con nastri trasportatori per caseifici, aziende di trasformazione di agrumi, succhi e alimenti surgelati. La chiave del successo di DCC è realizzare sistemi di trasporto in acciaio inossidabile in grado di resistere ai lavaggi con acqua calda e ad alta pressione richiesti nell'industria alimentare. DCC ha migliorato il suo sistema in acciaio inossidabile introducendo un trasportatore ad accumulo a pressione zero, denominato Aqua-Zone. L'accumulo a pressione zero è un metodo per accumulare i prodotti su nastro trasportatore senza che la pressione degli stessi causi collisioni nel sistema.
DCC ha progettato il sistema Aqua-Zone impiegando una serie di sensori di visione elettronici resistenti ad applicazioni di lavaggio, con logica integrata, in grado di monitorare e controllare le zone di accumulo e incrementare o ridurre la forza di azionamento in aree di accumulo specifiche, in base alle condizioni di flusso dei prodotti.
Prima che DCC potesse introdurre il sistema Aqua-Zone in ambienti sottoposti a lavaggio o con alti tassi di umidità, era necessario accertarsi che tutti i componenti del sistema fossero in grado di resistere a queste condizioni, il che li ha portati a Turck. "Per il nostro trasportatore in acciaio inossidabile ad accumulo a pressione zero, eravamo in cerca di un alimentatore compatto e di alta qualità da 24 V in grado di resistere a frequenti lavaggi e alti tassi di umidità senza richiedere un involucro a tenuta stagna separato", chiarisce Scott.
DCC ha scelto l'alimentatore con grado di protezione IP67 di Turck per il suo sistema Aqua-Zone. Il sistema Turck rispettava tutti i requisiti di alimentazione dell'azienda DCC, oltre a fornire possibilità di montaggio attraenti, grazie alle dimensioni compatte. L'alimentatore, montato sotto il nastro trasportatore, in questo modo è protetto dagli spruzzi di acqua diretti, restando comunque accessibile al personale dell'impianto quando i nastri trasportatori sono installati a livello della testa, come spesso succede nel settore alimentare. "DCC vanta una mentalità orientata alla qualità e alle prestazioni, che è anche il motivo per cui molti dei nostri clienti si rivolgono a noi. L'innovativo design di Turck si adatta ai nostri standard elevati per le apparecchiature impiegate nei nostri sistemi", aggiunge Scott.
"Se non fosse per Turck, avremmo dovuto usare un alimentatore NEMA 12, non impermeabile e installarlo in un quadro", continua Scott. "Non solo abbiamo risparmiato il costo del quadro, ma non dobbiamo preoccuparci di possibili perdite né di sigillare adeguatamente il quadro. Poiché l'alimentatore di Turck è circa un terzo la dimensione di un quadro, possiamo anche installarlo nel punto più comodo per il cliente".
